ABC-7 StormTrack Weather: Perfect conditions for the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- Happy Friday! It will be another cool, calm, and quiet day in the Borderland after a high-pressure system slid into the area last night.

If you are planning to attend the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl, it will be in the fifties and calm throughout the game.

Likewise, for today, we will be topping out in the upper 50s with nighttime lows in the 30s.

This quiet and cool pattern will continue this weekend which will be perfect for the UTEP and NMSU basketball games.

Going into New Year's Day, we will see similar temperatures then a storm system will arrive in the middle of next week that will bring temperatures down to below normal. As well, we will see possible precipitation accompanied by this storm season.
