ABC-7 Weather – Some storms pound El Paso this afternoon and evening; gusty winds and hail in spots.

Storms developed in east El Paso and tracked W/SW. Several areas had very heavy rain with flooding (numerous flood warnings issued) along with gusty winds. A large metal roof blew off on the east side and slammed into a telephone pole knocking out power for some 8,000 residents. Doppler radar estimates show around 1-2" of rainfall around Montana Vista and the NE side of town near Transmountain and Hwy 54.The storms will weaken and mostly dissipate tonight.

Expect our temps to be a few degrees cooler the next several days but still hit 100 degrees.
