ABC-7 First Alert: Dangerous heat with hazy conditions

El Paso, Texas- The Borderland heat is here to stay for your Sunday. I'm tracking tripple digit temperatures across the region with many area locations seeing temps above 104 degrees. Las Cruces is also waking up to thick levels of smoke, creating for a hazy morning.

There have been reports of a fire burning in Doña Ana overnight. So areas near and south will be dealing with thick levels of smoke in the air. If you have any respiratory issues, it is best to limit any outdoor activities. Winds will stay relatively light, so these hazy conditions could last all day.

We will see slim chances to see isolated thunderstorms develop once again this afternoon. Our main threats will be gusty winds for lowland locations.
