ABC-7 First Alert: Scattered storms through tonight, widespread storms develop tomorrow

Hi all, and happy Father's Day! As I warned the past few days, storms are beginning to move into the area from the south. We will keep storm chances in for the next several hours across the area, but these storms will become widespread tomorrow.

Now, it appears that we will see scattered rain showers starting tomorrow morning around 7AM. We'll get a brief lull through midday but after 6PM, and especially after 8PM we are looking at numerous storms moving across the area, and multiple waves of rain too.

When these storms move over the same areas where it has previously rained, it will very likely lead to flash floods. Flash floods are certainly more likely if you get under a thunderstorm. Thus, tonight, Monday and Tuesday, you need to be very careful on the roads because they will become slippery and also potentially flooded.

As always, expect gusty winds, hail possible, and lightning too. Monday and Tuesday will be cooler because of the rain, but after Wednesday we will start to warm back up to the upper 90s and will be drier by the end of the week too.
