StormTRACK Weather: Isolated thunderstorms may pop up ahead of the firework show

El Paso, Texas- This Independence Day morning, I have some good and bad news. The good news is that it's going to be a lot drier than initially expected this afternoon. However, there still is a chance for isolated showers and thunderstorms to develop ahead of any firework show you may be attending.

Our ABC-7 First Alert has been dropped due to the fact that our chances have been diminished. It is monsoon season and the forecast can change quickly, so be aware that the StormTRACK Weather team is keeping a close eye on the ever-changing weather models.

Mostly sunny skies are expected today, with an increase in cloud cover this afternoon. Some showers and thunderstorms could lead to heavy rainfall and flooding in some areas. Keep the umbrella handy!
