ABC-7 First Alert: Flood Watch issued for much of the Borderland including El Paso and Las Cruces Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday evening

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for almost all of the Borderland including El Paso and Las Cruces. The watch will be in effect from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday evening.

A back door cold front will drop into the region and interact with a huge plume of deep monsoonal moisture, bringing several rounds of showers and thunderstorms with torrential downpours which may lead to localized flooding.

This will be an area-wide event for the region which includes much of south-central New Mexico and Far West Texas, including El Paso, Las Cruces, and the Mesilla Valley.
