Ft. Worth church donates gender-neutral bathroom signs to El Paso

Galileo Church

FORT WORTH, Texas (KVIA) -- The City of El Paso accepted a donation of $500 dollars from Ft. Worth-based Galileo Church for the production and distribution of gender-neutral bathroom signs.

This will be done through LGBTQIA+ organizations based in El Paso, such as Mountain Star Pride and Stonewall Democrats of El Paso.

The City Council meeting agenda explains the new signs will be in alignment with the city's new ordinance, Chapter 5.19, requiring gender-neutral signage for single-user restrooms in city buildings.

The new ordinance went into effect on January 1, 2024.
