ABC-7 First Alert: Stormy 4th of July through Wednesday

Happy 4th of July weekend everyone! This evening we will have a chance of storms just like yesterday. Make sure you watch the skies and see if any dark/cumulonimbus clouds are headed towards you...if they are...head indoors. More moisture will move over our area tomorrow where we will have even greater chances for some storms.

Currently, I have it at a 60% chance of rain for the 4th, and 50/50 shots for rain on Tuesday and Wednesday. Since we will have a lot of moisture, the storms may let out heavy rains, causing localized flooding. Gusty winds and small hail will be possible as well. The storms will be forming after lunchtime each day, so just make sure your grilling plans are flexible, whether you have to move inside or stay outside.

There are a few good things about the storm chances on Monday. 1) It will create a moist environment, so fireworks may be less likely to start fires. 2) It will cool your backyard parties down. 3) It will help with the drought. 4) It will create a beautiful sunset in the evening.

Stay safe yall and stay updated with us here at ABC-7.
