NMSU fall 21-7 to FIU at home and move to 1-5 on the season
EL PASO, Texas -- The Aggies were favored in their clash at home with FIU on Saturday and were looking to string together a pair of wins but fell 21-7.
Head Coach Jerry Kill summed the performance up best when after the game he said, "They just whipped our butt. It's simple."
The only score for the Aggies on the night came on a 14-play 75-yard drive that ended in Star Thomas rushing in for a two yard touchdown. Meanwhile the Panthers scored all of their points before the half.
The Panthers out gained NM State 334-221 in the ballgame and 152-82 on the ground, some very different numbers from the Aggies then what they showed in their win over Hawaii.
The Aggies now have a bye week and a chance to regroup before they host New Mexico on Oct. 15. Meanwhile the win for FIU is their first against an FBS school since 2019.
