Mayfield High School’s Coach Bradley announces retirement, capping accomplished tenure
LAS CRUCES, New Mexico -- Mayfield High School's long-time coach, Michael Bradley, has announced his retirement.
Coach Bradley joined the school as an assistant in 1994. He coached under his father, Jim Bradley, going on to win several state championships.
The football program at Mayfield has always had a Bradley on the coaching staff since the school opened in 1965.
Coach Bradley tells ABC-7's New Mexico Mobile Newsroom life after football will involve spending time with his family, something he's not been able to do much due to the demands as head football coach.
Coach Bradley hopes the Bradley legacy will continue through his brother Gary. Gary coached at Mayfield with his brother and father before leaving to win a state title at Farmington and a coaching stint in Carlsbad.
Among coach Bradley's accomplishments: winning three state titles and being state-runner up three times. Coach Bradley was named New Mexico Coach of the Year in 2017.
