FLETCHER, NC (WLOS) — Students at Veritas Christian Academy found a special way to thank Fletcher First Baptist Church for being a good neighbor.

Middle and upper school students stocked the church’s pantries as part of a school project. The church has been letting the school use part of its parking lot during a big construction project.

The food drive is the students’ way of saying thanks for the help.

“We have 10 grocery carts, and then followed up by probably 65 students carrying bags and boxes of food,” Logic School Principal Sheri Sullivan described.

“It helps the world, and it helps people who need food and things like that,” sixth-grader Danielle Pharr said.

Ingles donated shopping carts to help students get food to the pantry.

Teacher say the seventh-grade class collected the most food for the pantry.
