ABC-7 First Alert: Dangerous heat continues triple-digit record broken today

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- We continue our ABC -7 First Alert for the heat.

We met a record yesterday set originally in 1994 for 23 consecutive triple digit days. Today we will surpass that record as we are expected to hit the 24 triple digit in a row today. A high of 108 is expected.

El Paso county is still under an excessive heat warning with overnight temperatures resting at 76.

There is a 30% chance for rain today. We could see that in the form of scattered showers and light thunderstorms. Moisture remains in the air increasing humidity.
