The Salvation Army is sending two 18 wheelers full of donations to Baton Rouge late Thursday evening. Additionally, officials say there is such a large amount of non-perishable foods, diapers, water bottles, and toiletries that much of it will be stored at the local food bank and at Salvation Army storage facilities.

According to the Salvation Army, some of the food will help meet the needs of evacuues making El Paso their home, as well as helping the Sun City’s homeless.

The Salvation Army tells ABC-7 that it’s difficult to put a dollar amount on the donations, but they say it’s more than they’ve seen in a very long time.
