ABC-7 First Alert: Tracking record-breaking heat in the Borderland, highs up to 105 possible

Your ABC-7 StormTrack Weather Team has issued a First Alert for the heat wave that continues to cook the Borderland. Daily highs for Monday-Wednesday will be up to 105. We could possible break a few daily record highs.

A upper-level high pressure system (heat dome) continues to build over the Desert Southwest which is minimizing our rain chances and causing near-record highs in the Borderland. It will remain over the region for the next several days. After Thursday, this high pressure system will drift to the west into Arizona which may bring a very slight chance of rain to the area, the highest chances will be in the mountains over the weekend.
