Man Dies In Stabbing Attack

CANUTILLO, TX. –Sheriff’s Investigators are trying to identifya suspect wanted in connection to a fatal stabbing. Detectives say the incident happened around 2 a.m. Monday at a home at 7137 5th Street in Canutillo.

Officers tell ABC-7 that the victim, who has not been identified, was fatally wounded when his assailant stabbed him several times in the upper body. The man was taken to Thomason Hospital where he later died.

A murder weapon has not yet been recovered, and Sheriff’s Deputies spent the morning combing through the neighborhood looking for a suspect. They were alerted to the scene after hearing reports that the victim had been calling out for help.

Neighbors tell ABC-7 said the victim was non-violent and was not engaged in criminal activity. Theyadded that he held a steady job doing construction work and was expected to report to his job today.
