PD Bomb Squad Called To High School, ‘Suspicious Device’ Found In Field

EL PASO, TX. – The Sun City’s bomb squad had to be called out to an eastside high school Tuesday afternoon after a suspicious device was found on campus.

Police tell ABC-7 the device was found at El Dorado High School earlier Tuesday afternoon. Police add that school security guards saw someone walking through the baseball field. When they confronted the person he ran away, and then they found the device.

Officials say it looked like a pipe with wires coming out and the bomb squad concluded it was not dangerous, so students were allowed to leave campus. As a precaution, he bomb squad took the device back to its lab for further testing.

Additionally officials tell ABC-7 the person who left it will still be punished if caught because it is illegal to make a hoax bomb.
