Boeing Interested In Testing Robotic Plane Over Clovis Area

CLOVIS, N.M. (AP) – Boeing Company is interested in testing a robotic airplane called ScanEagle over the Clovis-area skies.

The company’s logistics support systems director in Oklahoma City, Ben Robinson, says there’s a good possibility the tests will come about in the near future.

ScanEagles are about four feet long and have a ten-foot wingspan. The Marines have used them for intelligence and reconnaissance work in Iraq. Boeing officials have said the ScanEagle sends detailed real-time video images to Marines on the ground.
