Storm 2006: Clean-Up Begins

EL PASO, TX- Maintenance crews in the borderland have begunthe process of cleaning up after Tuesday’s massive storm.

Authorities from Dell City, Van Horn, Ft. Davis, and Marfa have sentmaintenance crews with heavy equipment in hand to helpcleaning effortsmanaged by theTexas Department of Transportation.

The agency has dispatched four crews to the city and the surrounding area.

Onecrewhas been sentto the Northeast part of town. It will concentrate on checking the following thoroughfares: Martin Luther King, McCombs, Dyer, Transmountain (Loop 375) and parts of US Highway 54.

Asecond crew will be heading out to I-10 east and westbound between Transmountain and Anthony.

A third crew will inspect Interstate 10between Zaragoza and Sunland Park, and will be concentrating mainly on the frontage roads in the area.

A fourth crew will survey the Cesar Chavez Highway between Santa Fe and Zaragoza.
