Albuquerque School Locked Down Following Report Of Armed Man

ALBUQUERQUE (AP) – An Albuquerque middle school was locked down and SWAT teams searched the campus this morning for a man who reportedly was brandishing a knife.

Albuquerque police Officer Trish Hoffman says a student reported she was approached by a man in all black armed with a knife. Hoffman says police have searched James Monroe Middle School, but haven’t found the man.

She says police also are looking at videotape of the outside of the school. Hoffman says police don’t know if the man touched the girl.

Two nearby elementary schools were locked down for a couple of hours as a precaution.
