Dead And Starving Animals Found In Tularosa

TULAROSA, N.M. (AP) – Otero County sheriff’s deputies have found six starving dogs and the decomposed bodies of three dogs and five cats at a Tularosa rental property.

The sheriff’s department is trying to determine who is responsible for leaving the animals at the property with no food or water.

Undersheriff Norbert Sanchez says a deputy responded to the home Saturday night on an animal welfare check.

He noticed several dogs that appeared to have no water, so he left some for the animals.

Sanchez says sheriff’s deputies returned the next day to find the starving and dead animals.
