Border Patrol Seizes Cocaine Worth $13 Million

HIDALGO, Texas (AP) – Federal agents patrolling the banks of the Rio Grande on Thursday seized 410 pounds of cocaine valued at $13.1 million from a pickup truck, Customs and Border Protection said.

The driver and passenger fled into thick nearby brush. There were no arrests. The seizure occurred about 6:15 a.m. after agents approached the pickup truck as it headed north from the river.

The cocaine was found in the vehicle after the driver and passenger fled, authorities said. It was seized along with the truck.
