Agency Provides Free Flood Information For Residents

EL PASO, TX – El Paso residents weary of the oncoming flood season can turn to the Texas Cooperative Extension for advice.

The agencyhas free information regarding what to do before, during and after a flood.

The agency’s disaster-related publications offer a variety of information and tips on flood preparation and recovery.

“With flooding, there are a number of things you can do to minimize damage to your home or business, protect your family’s health and restore your property after the flood,” stated Janie Harris, Extension’s housing and environment speciallist. “Extension provides useful, objective information that we hope will keep property safe.”

Harris also points out that the agency’s website has information on flood preparation, the cleaning of flood damaged homes, emergency food and water supplies, the national flood insurance program and post flooding safety precautions.
