New Movie Will Be Filmed In NM

SANTA FE, NM- Governor Bill Richardson announced that the MGM feature film “Angelmaker” will be shot in New Mexico.

“I’m happy to welcome MGM back to New Mexico ,” said Governor Bill Richardson. “With them coming, it means that every major studio will have had productions here in this modern era of film.”

The film will star Joe Pantoliano, whose previous films include Memento and The Matrix. Production will shoot in and around Albuquerque from August 20 through September 21. According to Richardson, the studio expects to hire approximately 75 local crew members and 400 local actors and extras.

The film will be produced by David Greathouseand will be directed byRobert Kurtzman, whose previous films include the Rage, Buried Alive and Wishmaster.

Angelmaker tells the story of a police officer with a painful past who returns to Albuquerque to help the FBI track down a mastermind assassin.

” Albuquerque is pleased to host yet another movie to our metro area this summer,” said Mayor Martin Chavez. “It’s very exciting to see the film industry here expand at such a rapid rate.”

Since Richardson took office, over 70 feature films and television series have shot in the state, adding over $1.2 billion dollars toNewMexico’seconomy.
