Otero County Says ‘No Thank You’ To U.N.

OTERO COUNTY, N.M. – Otero County Commissioners are giving the United Nations a piece of their mind!

TheU.N.wants to add White Sands National Monument to its list of World Heritage sites. That list already includes the Great Wall of China, the Tower of London, the Statue of Liberty, even Carlsbad Caverns!

But according to a resolution passed earlier this week, Otero County commissioners think if theU.N. comes to town, they would meddle in local affairs and get in the way of military operations.Otero County leaders say theU.N. is not welcome in their county! The board is sending its resolution to everyone from state legislators to the President of the United States.
