Longview Company Recalls More Than 800 Sandwiches

LONGVIEW, Texas (AP) – An East Texas company is recalling more than 800 sandwiches because of possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.

It’s the second recall this month for CFS Operating of Longview. The company today announced it’s recalling 813 units of Cloud’s ham & cheese, and also tuna salad sandwiches.

The items have the date code: 82107. The five-ounce products are packaged in flexible plastic film and plastic wedges.

All were sold in convenience stores in East Texas and northwest Louisiana.

Food and Drug Administration sampling detected the problem. The company has not had reports of anyone getting sick.

Consumers are urged not to eat the items. The company in early August voluntarily recalled more than 4,200 tuna salad and egg salad sandwiches because of possible similar contamination.
