Family of Veteran files wrongful death lawsuit against driver and tow truck company after fiery 9 car crash

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- A tow truck company and its driver are at the center of a lawsuit after a nine-car crash killed a young Veteran.

Jorge Quintana was killed in a fiery crash after a tow truck failed to stop setting off a deadly chain reaction.

The nine-car pile-up happened on loop 375 between Pebble Hills and Edgemere last Wednesday, November 8.

Noe Valles, who's law firm is representing the family spoke on behalf of the Quintana family on Thursday.

"He was in traffic and a tow truck owned by Pantusa towing, apparently the driver was not paying attention. He hit a car. That car hit another car and then that car hit her husband," said Noe Valles.

The Pantusa tow truck driven by Antonio Zubia slammed into another car causing most of the nine cars involved to catch fire.  Several people were injured. Quintanna was killed.

He was 27 years old.

His family has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the driver and the tow truck company.

"She's got two minor daughters, a 17-month-old and a six-month-old who lost their father. And so those miners are going to grow up and one day they're going to ask what happened? Why did our dad, you know, die?" said Valles "We hope to get answers for the family and hopefully avoid another accident, a similar accident, and prevent another family from losing a loved one".

Valles did say he's been in touch with Pantusa Towing and that they are being cooperative.
