Juarez journalists gather to remember colleague killed in violent attack
JUAREZ, Chihuahua (KVIA) -- Ismael Villagómez, a Juarez photojournalist for El Heraldo de Juárez, died early Thursday morning.
He was shot and killed while in his vehicle in Juarez's Francisco Sarabia neighborhood.
On Friday, dozens of Villagómez's colleagues gathered at the Journalist Plaza in Downtown Juarez to pay their respects.
The Chihuahua Attorney General's Office in Northern Chihuahua confirmed they arrested three men in connection with Villagómez's death.
The three suspects confirmed to Juarez authorities that they were trying to assault Villagómez and that while they were struggling they fired a gun at him.
