Las Cruces house repair business owner accused of robbing homes he had worked on
LAS CRUCES, New Mexico (KVIA) -- A New Mexico man is charged with multiple crimes after an alleged robbery.
Guillermo Flores Jr. is charged with aggravated burglary, armed robbery, conspiracy to commit aggravated burglary, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, false imprisonment, larceny, and impersonating a police officer.
Court documents state officers were called out to the 4600 block of Chamizal Road in Las Cruces on November 25, 2023. They had gotten a call about an armed robbery.
The homeowner told officers that two men had entered his home carrying guns and yelling "police." He said the men forced him to open his gun safe, threatening to shoot him if he did not. Court documents state the men took several guns, silver bars, and coins worth $10,000 from the safe.
When the homeowner asked the men for a search warrant they shot one round into the house. They then left the house, taking the homeowner's phone and wallet.
When investigators got to the house they reviewed the RING camera footage. The men were wearing masks and gloves.
The homeowner told investigators that in 2019 he hired Berks Pressure Washing and Painting to do some work on his house. The company is owned by Greg Gensemer.
Investigators later connected this crime with another that happened March 3, 2023 at a home on Loomis Road. The alleged robbers took an iPad installed with a GPS tracker. The last known location of the iPad was a home on Rio Hondo Road. Court documents state Gensemer lives at the home.
On March 4, 2023 another robbery happened at a home on Skyline Road. Soon after, Gensemer was charged in connection with this crime.
The owner of the robbed home on Loomis also told investigators that Gensemer's company had done work on his house. When officers searched Gensemer's house, they found business invoices for work done on the home on Skyline.
Investigators then traced phone records to connect Flores to the crimes as Gensemer's co-conspirator.
ABC-7 is working to learn which charges police filed against Gensemer.
