Former El Paso Football Players Signed To Arena Football League

EL PASO, TX. – Former UTEP quarterback Jordan Palmer and Austin High School quarterback/defensive back Rufus Brown have been signed by the Arizona Rattlers of the Arena Football League.

The 6-foot-6, 235-pound Palmer was drafted in the sixth round by the Washington Redskins in last year’s NFL draft, but was eventually cut. Palmer threw for more than 11,000 yards at UTEP, completing 64 percent of his passes for 28 touchdowns his senior season.

The 5-foot-10, 190-pound Brown played his college ball at Florida State. He has Arena Football League experience at San Jose and Las Vegas. Like Palmer, Brown also spent time with the Redskins, participating in training camp in 2004 and 2005 before the team allocated him to the NFL Europe’s Hamburg Sea Devils.
