Man Not Seriously Hurt In Rollover Crash

SOCORRO — A man escaped serious injury this morning even though he was involved in a rollover crash that caused severe damage to his car.

The incident happened around 2 a.m. near Place Rd. Investigators said the man somehow lost control of his vehicle and it hit a tree. The vehicle then rolled over and came to rest in a canal in front of a house.

Rescue crews had to use special extraction tools to remove the man from his car. They took the man to Thomason Hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation continued Monday afternoon. A preliminary report indicated speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.
