MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Republican businessman and real estate mogul Eric Hovde launched his bid for the U.S. Senate against Wisconsin Democratic incumbent Sen. Tammy Baldwin on Tuesday. Hovde is calling for bipartisan solutions to tackle issues like immigration, national security and the economy. Hovde says he is running for Senate to lower the national debt and invigorate the middle class. He is also calling for securing the southern border, an international policy based on “peace through strength” and bipartisan solutions. Hovde said he would hold Baldwin accountable for her record in Congress over the past 25 years in Congress. A multimillionaire, he also promised not to take corporate special interest money during the campaign.
