“Shoot me”: Person accused of murdering man with ‘bowie knife’ in Central El Paso alley

Update (November 13, 2024): Guzman's jury trial was rescheduled for April 25, 2025 at 8:00 AM.


Update (August 7, 2024): Today the court scheduled Guzman's jury trial for November 8, 2024 at 8:00 AM.

Update: Court documents newly-obtained by ABC-7 state that Oscar Guzman Jr. was arrested for the man's murder. Police officers found Guzman in Central El Paso where he reportedly told them "if you wanna kill me, shoot me."

Police officials have not yet identified the victim.


Update: Police said an adult man was stabbed and taken to the hospital, where he died. Officials are unsure of the victim's age.

A man was taken into custody. Police said they do not believe there is any danger to the public.


EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- Crimes Against Persons is investigating after El Paso Police responded to a welfare call at 2900 Porter Avenue.

The nature of the investigation has not yet been revealed.

An ABC-7 crew is en route to the scene. We will update this story as we learn more.
