JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — A former Mississippi police officer has pleaded guilty to a federal civil rights charge after authorities say he forced a man to lick his own urine off the floor of a jail cell. Michael Christian Green pleaded guilty to a charge of deprivation of civil rights Thursday. Documents unsealed Wednesday show Green arrested the man Dec. 23, when Green was still a Pearl Police Department patrol officer. Police department security footage showed Green threatened to beat the man before forcing him to lick urine from the floor. Pearl Mayor Jake Windham says that the city and its police department have no tolerance for that behavior. Green’s sentencing is May 24.
