UPDATE: Two Teens Die In Early Morning Crash

Twoteenagers died early Sunday in a crash in El Paso’s Upper Valley.

The crash happened in the 1000 block of Country Club Road just before 4:00 am.

Police say 18 year old Martin Cano wasspeeding west on Country Club ina 1999 Dodge Intrepid, and lost control of the car. The car slid off the road, and hit a sign made out of cinder blocks. The car came to rest upside down on the sign.

Both Cano and the front seat passenger, 16 year old Adrian Navarro, were killed in the crash.

A police spokesman says the back seat passenger, 19 year old Javier Coronado, was taken to Thomason Hospital with serious, but non-life threatening,injuries. He is reportedly in stable condition.

All three teens are from Sunland Park, NM.

Investigators believe speed and alcohol were both factors in the crash. They also say the three may not have beenusing theirseatbelts.
