Alamogordo Woman Found Dead

ALAMOGORDO, N.M. (AP) -On Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at approximately 5:15 p.m., Alamogordo DPS Officers and Detectives responded to a local motel identified as the Economy Inn 508 South White Sands room #112 in reference to a possible stabbing that had just occurred. Upon arrival of officers and detectives a Hispanic female, identified as Brenda Guerra 27 years old, was found deceased inside room #112 with multiple stab wounds. A second female, identified as Graciela L. Guerra 49 year old Hispanic female was found outside of room #112 where the deceased was found. Police say they’ve questioned her. She was wearing blood-soaked jeans and had blood on her hands and face.

Investigation revealed a domestic altercation had ensued within room #112 which led to the death of the decedent.

The investigation led to the application and execution of a search warrant at a residence located in the 200 block of Teakwood and the Economy Inn room #112. As a result of the search warrant, evidence was collected to support the arrest of Graciela L. Guerra on an Open Count of Murder (1st Degree). She stands accused of murder after a court hearing in the Otero County Courthouse building. The investigation is continuing as to whether the murder is related to the hearing or not.

Graciela L. Guerra was incarcerated at the Otero County Detention Center on a no bond hold. All further information released on this case will go through the 12th Judicial District Attorney Scot Key.
