Sun Metro Increases 7% In Ridership

EL PASO, Texas – The 2008 El Paso transportation summit was held Wednesday at the convention center.

The purpose was to inform the public about free and low-cost transportation services like Sun Metro available in El Paso. It also informed transportation providers and TX-DOT to consumers so they could hear concerns and suggestions.

More and more Americans are turning to mass transit because of the gas price crisis across the nation.

Sun Metro says they’ve seen a 7% increase in ridership this year alone.

Many analysts now are predicting the national average price of gas to hit $4 a gallon in the coming weeks.
