Common Cause New Mexico To Put Volunteers At Polls
SANTA FE (AP) – A new project sponsored in part by Common Cause New Mexico will put volunteers at the polls in eight counties on election day.
They’ll keep an eye on problems and provide help to voters, officials said.
Common Cause spokesman Steven Allen says about 200 volunteers will participate in the nonpartisan effort. About one-third of them are lawyers.
The counties are Bernalillo, Santa Fe, Sandoval, Dona Ana, Cibola, Rio Arriba, Chaves and McKinley.
The so-called election protection project already has a telephone hot line to answer questions and help voters get information.
