Woman Who Disturbed Traffic On I-10 Now In Protective Custody
EL PASO, Texas — A womanwho ran on the shoulder of I-10 East near the McRae and Yarbrough exits disturbed rush hour traffic for thousands of Eastside drivers.
Police responded to 17 callsabout a woman throwing things at drivers and running in and out of traffic between 5 and 6 p.m. Wednesday. She was not injured.
The woman, whose identity was not released, was taken into protective custody, which is standard procedure in mental health cases, El Paso police spokesman Chris Mears said. He could not release where she was taken due to privacy laws.
