Minerpalooza Kicks Off At UTEP

EL PASO, TX — The official kick-off to UTEP’s school year and football season gets underway tonight with Minerpalooza.

UTEP officials estimate 22,000 Miner fans of all ages will head out to the campus for the massive “block party,” which offers food, games, and musical entertainment.

The event is free and open to the public. Tickets are available for food, drinks, and some activities.

Minerpalooza is held the Friday before UTEP football’s seaon opener. This season begins with the Miners playing in the Sun Bowl against the Buffalo Bulls, the Mid-American Conference Champions.

Last year, the Miners lost to the Bulls 42-17. Saturday, UTEP is favored to win over Buffalo by at least 9 points.
