FBI Arrests Las Cruces Man In Online Sex Sting
FBI agents, working in conjunction with El Paso Police, have arrested a 45-year-old man who allegedly tried to arrange over the Internet to meet a 15-year-old girl in El Paso for sex, according to FBI spokeswoman Andrea Simmons.
Steven Payne, who works as an advertising contractor in Alamogordo selling ads for different publications, was arrested in the 7800 block of Edgemere in East El Paso Thursday.
The 15-year-old female was actually an El Paso Police officer posing as the teen online. .
Payne will appear before a federal magistrate on Friday. He is charged with one count of coercion and inticement of a minor.
