Fire Destorys Vacant Home In Central El Paso

A fire ripped through a vacant home in central El Paso Saturday afternoon.

Twenty-four firefighters responded to the blaze just after 12:30 p.m.

According to officials, when fire crews arrived at the home in the 2900 block of Mountain Avenue, they saw heavy smoke pouring out of the home.

Fire crews said the blaze was extinguished within 10 minutes of the first unit’s arrival.

Investigators said fire damage was confined to the area around the home’s heater/furnace. Smoke damage was extensive throughout the home, officials said.

There were no report of injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s office.

Estimated damage to the structure have not been determined.
