Dona Ana Co. Sheriff’s Office: 10-Year-Old Sexually Assaulted 3-Year-Old

The Dona Ana County Sheriff’s Office says it’s investigating the sexual assault of a 3-year-old that was allegedly committed by a 10-year-old in Dona Ana County, New Mexico.

The sheriff’s office released few details, only saying the victim was taken to Memorial Medical Center’s emergency room in Las Cruces at 5 p.m. Tuesday. They confirm the 10-year-old was taken into custody Tuesday night.

The New Mexico Clearinghouse on Sexual Abuse and Assault Services offers several types of brochures to prevent and address sexual abuse, including one on child sexual abuse called, “Do Children Sexually Abuse Other Children? – A brochure about preventing sexual abuse among children and youth.”
