El Paso’s Newest Dog Park Getting $7,000 Worth of Upgrades
El Paso dog lovers, read this. There’s a new place for your pooch to play and it’s about to get better.
The Sun City doesn’t exactly have a vast number of dog parks. There’s one at Eastwood Park in east El Paso, otherwise known as ‘Album Park.’ Another is planned near the Don Haskins Recreation Center at 7400 High Ridge in West El Paso.
Now, there’s another park for pups in far east El Paso. It’s where Pebble Hills Boulevard ends before Zaragoza, near Tierra Mina Drive.
At the moment, the Pebble Hills dog park consists of only two large, fenced-in areas – one for small dogs, the other for large dogs.
El Paso City Representative Rachel Quintana says that’s about to change.
Quintana told ABC-7, at the request of constituents in the area, she used $7,000 of District 5’s discretionary fund to purchase ‘doggie equipment’ for the park, including tire jumps and wall jumps.
El Pasoan Tammy Anderson said she brings her dogs, Bentley and Maggie, to the Pebble Hills park regularly. She told ABC-7 the park gets pretty busy in the evenings.
“There aren’t many things here in El Paso that you can do with your dog, unfortunately,” she said. “So anything they can do would be wonderful.”
