Las Cruces Man Facing Child Pornography Charges
Countless videos of physically and sexually abused children, as young as 6-months-old, is what police allegedly found in a Las Cruces man?s computer.
Frank Bueno, 29, is facing 60 counts of child pornography.
It is hard to stomach reading through court documents, with descriptions of vile acts detectives said they found on Bueno?s computer. According to the statement of facts, Bueno described his collection of child porn to detectives as, ?the worst of the worst.?
“It’s disgusting to me,? Beth Williamson, a neighbor, said. ?It’s purely disgusting; it’s not right.”
Williamson said she is shocked beyond belief. She has lived in a quiet, north central Las Cruces neighborhood for years, next to Bueno, now an alleged child predator.
“How can an adult be wanting a child,? Williamson said. ?That’s just beyond any comprehension.”
Indicted for 60 counts of child pornography, police said Bueno spent most of his time in his room, surfing the Internet for pornographic videos and images of children being physically and sexually abused.
“The problem with the Internet is, it provides a place for individuals who have this tendency who have this disorder but he really seemed to be drawn toward videos of physical abuse that went along with the sexual assault and I think that was very disturbing,” Deputy District Attorney James Dickens said.
According to the statement of facts, Bueno?s collection included bondage and torture of infants as young as 6-months-old.
“This was the absolute last thing we expected to happen,” Ed Denzler, who lives nearby, said.
Bueno?s computer was allegedly loaded with files, police said, that Bueno downloaded and shared through a peer-to-peer network. But this program also allowed police to directly track the files back to Bueno?s address, Dickens said.
“Once the computer program finds these files it requests the computer send the Las Cruces Police Department some of the files, and officers can then verify, sure enough these files contain child pornography,? Dickens said.
In the statement of facts, Bueno allegedly told investigators he has an addiction and desperately wants to be cured, though he also said he has never abused a child himself.
“You just don’t know, you really don’t know who your neighbors are,? Linda Baker, a neighbor, said. ?It makes you paranoid.?
Bueno is being held at the Dona Ana County Detention Center on a $750,000 cash bond.
