UPDATE: Police Say Device Found In East El Paso Not A Threat

According to the El Paso Police Department, the suspicious device found at the Technician’s car service center at 11150 Montana Ave. in east El Paso on Wednesday was not a threat.

The owner of Technician’s told ABC-7 that a mechanic found an unknown device magnetically attached to the bottom of a vehicle he was working on.

The owner said he immediately called police.

Early reports from police indicated that a 500 yard area was evacuated around the garage. Sun Metro buses were also sent in to aid with evacuation.

After further investigation, including by the bomb squad, the device was found not be a threat.

Area streets were then reopened.
