A man who came to aid of a woman being punched in the face at Jaguars Gold Club was slashed in the arm early Thursday, police said
Gilberto Lopez is accused of punching Jaguars employee Stephanie Avelar in the face with a closed fist several times before Joseph Keiser stepped in to help Avelar. Joseph Reyes then cut Keiser on the left arm and elbow with a knife, causing a laceration, police said. Lopez, Reyes and Adrianna Castillo then left the club in a Mazda vehicle before officers arrived at the scene, but the suspects were located and stopped by another police unit at the McDonald’s at 1100 N. Police arrested Reyes on suspicion of aggravated assault with deadly weapon. He was held on a $15,400 bond. Lopez was arrested on suspicion of assault causing bodily injury and jailed on a $10,000 bond. Castillo was arrested on suspicion of possession of controlled substance. After a search, police said Castillo was in possession of 13 pills of alprazolam, more commonly known as Xanax. All three were booked into the El Paso County Jail.
