Nephew: Carsner Shot ‘My Abuelo And Abuela’
The nephew of a woman accused of killing her mother and stepfather testified that she shot his grandparents.
Laura Grisel Carsner’s is accused of shooting and killing 68-year-old Irma Quiroz and 66-year-old Alejandro Quiroz in the backyard of their Northeast El Paso home in 2009. Neighbors said Carsner was in a custody battle with her parents over her own children.
Eleven-year-old Alex Quiroz said he, his brother and their cousin were in the in the backyard of their grandparents when he saw Carsner come through the back gate, smiling, with her hands behind her back.
Quiroz said that moments later he grabbed his cousin — Carsner’s daughter — and ran through the house out to the front yard. He said he heard gunshots when they were halfway through the house. He heard his brother screaming, and when he made it to the backyard to grab his brother, Quiroz said he saw his aunt running away.
“She (Carsner) was shooting my abuelo and abuela.”
The younger boy, who also testified Wednesday, said he heard his grandmother say, “Please don’t shoot me.”
