ABC-7 First Alert: Tracking lingering strong to severe thunderstorms in the Borderland, Severe T-Storm and Flood Watches in effect

We are tracking strong to severe thunderstorms in the Borderland! El Paso has seen a slew of severe thunderstorms with very heavy pockets of pea to marble sized hail and heavy rain, not a lot of strong winds associated with the storms!

A lot of rainfall fell on small portions of El Paso that prompted a few water rescues. According to the City of El Paso, emergency crews responded to a water rescue involving a vehicle on South Desert Boulevard. No injuries reported... Also, after a reservoir overflowed near Dawnlight Lane in the Enchanted Hills area of El Paso 16 homes had to be evacuated. All residents have a place to stay at this time.

Most of the strongest activity has died down across the area, but there is still a flood threat. A Flood Watch is place effect until tomorrow morning.

Tomorrow, we may see isolated showers and thunderstorms. Most of the action will be to the east of El Paso and Las Cruces!

Likewise, there is a small chance for isolated showers and t-storms daily this coming week. Highs will be in the upper 70s and lows in the 50s or 60s.
