UTEP Soccer Enjoys Green Grass Classic

EL PASO, TEXAS ? The UTEP soccer team enjoyed some fun in the sun with its annual Green Grass Classic at University Field Wednesday afternoon. Team ?Harry Potter & The Soccer Wizards? won the mini round-robin event on the pitch while also being recognized for the best costume in a runaway vote.

Also competing in the event were the teams of ?Furious Forest,? ?Captain Crunch & The Cereal Killers? and ?Team Alien.?

UTEP will continue its preseason training camp with practice at 3 p.m. Thursday. The Miners will kick off their 2011 season by playing host to I-10 rival New Mexico State at 7 p.m. MT on Aug. 19. There will be a pre-game tailgate (5-7 p.m.), and fans can receive free admission to the game by attending it.
