Traffic Stop Leads To Unusual Discovery

Officers from the El Paso Police Department said they made an interesting discovery during a traffic stop late Friday night.

Police said they stopped a 1995 Ford Crown Victoria on the 3000 block of Alameda with no brake lights.

The driver, 24-year-old Frederick Womack, was unable to show proof of a license or insurance and was asked to step out of his car, according to police.

Police said they noticed Womack was concealing something in his hand, which turned out to be a bag filled with 29 baggies of cocaine.

Womack then ran away from the officer, but was quickly tacked by police.

Womack was placed under arrest and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility and charged with manufacturing/delivery of a controlled substance as well as evading arrest.

Womack bond was set at $26,000.
